Delete my Kachiban data
Kachiban, by Nettle Studios, is played as a guest and does not ask for an email or a password. To play online (“Play”), the game creates an anonymous guest account and stores its data in Unity Gaming Services, which Nettle configures and runs; the rest of the game's data is only on your phone. This page explains how to delete each thing and whom to ask for the rest. More detail in sections 3 and 14 of the privacy policy.
1. Delete your online account from the app
The guest account the game creates to play online is deleted from the app, with no waiting and no questions:
- Open Kachiban and go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
- A screen explains what you lose (progress, cosmetics, balances and the guest account) and what cannot be recovered. Confirm.
- When it finishes, the app returns to its first launch.
Before deleting, keep in mind:
- You cannot delete while you are seated in an active online match: finish it or leave it first.
- An internet connection is needed.
- If you have a purchase waiting to be validated, the app tells you; if you delete anyway, that purchase is lost.
- Deleting the account does not cancel or refund purchases. Google Play handles refunds: see its refund policies.
- People under 18 can delete their account without an adult's authorization.
2. Delete your online account if you no longer have the app
If you no longer have the app or cannot open it, write to nettledoingitagain@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Kachiban account” and give your account's support code.
The support code is a random code you can see in Settings → Account. It is not your player name or your ID. Keep it if you want this option. We ask for it because the guest account is anonymous, with no email or real name: without that code there is no way to know which account is yours. We will never ask you for passwords or payment data.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data does not delete the account on the server. If you do not have the code, write to us anyway, but we cannot guarantee that we will identify your account. An account with no purchases that goes 24 months without being opened is deleted automatically.
We will reply to your email and complete the deletion within 30 days at most.
3. What is deleted and what is kept
| Data | What happens | When |
|---|---|---|
| Your guest account (the identity in Unity Gaming Services), your profile (name, tag, avatar, frame, language), your progress, your estimated skill level, your age band and dates, your blocks and the rest of your account's data | Deleted | On confirmation; completed within 30 days at most |
| The session and the local data on your phone | The app deletes them and returns to its first launch | On confirmation |
| The matches you played (seed, moves, seats and result) | Your ID is replaced by an anonymous marker; the matches are deleted at 90 days like the rest | On confirmation |
| The reports you made or received | Kept with an anonymous marker, for safety | Up to 12 months |
| The record of your purchases and the proof of what you accepted | Kept without your player ID, for as long as accounting, tax and data protection rules require | The period the law sets |
| Firebase Crashlytics crash reports | They cannot be deleted one by one; Firebase removes them on its own (point 7) | 90 days |
Those exceptions serve security, fraud prevention and compliance with the law, and that data is not used for advertising.
4. Delete the game's data on your phone
Choose one of these two ways. Exact menu names vary by phone.
- Clear the app's data: Android Settings → Apps → Kachiban → Storage → Clear data. This deletes your profile, progress, in-app purchases, preferences and your age and privacy answers that are on the phone.
- Uninstall the app: Android deletes everything the app stored, except what is in the backup (next point).
This does not delete your online account, which is on Unity's servers. Also, clearing the phone's data loses the guest account's session, and you will no longer be able to delete it from the app. If you want to delete the account, do it first (point 1) or use the support code (point 2).
Deleting the data does not cancel or refund purchases. Google Play handles refunds: see its refund policies.
5. Google backup
If Google backup is turned on, Android may have saved the app's data in your account. That backup is not Nettle's. To delete it: Android Settings → Google → Backup (or Manage backups) and remove the device's backup. If you do not, when you reinstall Kachiban Android may restore the progress that is on the phone. The online account is not in that backup: it is deleted as point 1 or point 2 says.
6. Ad data (Google AdMob)
The data Google AdMob collects is handled by Google, not Nettle, and Nettle cannot delete it. You can:
- reset or delete the advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads);
- turn off ad personalization in the same place;
- change personalized ads inside Kachiban, in Settings → Privacy;
- manage or delete the activity tied to your Google account at myactivity.google.com and ask Google to exercise your rights under its privacy policy.
7. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
The crash reports the app has already sent to Firebase Crashlytics are handled by Google and Nettle cannot delete them one by one; Firebase keeps them for 90 days and then removes them. Each report carries a random installation identifier, not your name or email. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it deletes that identifier from the phone, and a new install starts with a different one. More details in section 10 of the privacy policy.
8. If you write to us
If you want us to delete the correspondence we have with you, or you have a privacy question, write to nettledoingitagain@gmail.com from the address you wrote to us from before. Do not include passwords or payment data. To delete your online account, follow point 1 or point 2. We use your address and message only to reply, and we keep them for up to 24 months.
