Kachiban terms of service
These terms govern the use of the game Kachiban (the “app”), published on Google Play by Nettle Studios (“Nettle” or “we”), an independent studio based in Colombia. By continuing on the app's first launch, together with the privacy notice, you accept them.
1. Who can play
Anyone. People under 18 play in protected mode (see the privacy policy) and need an adult's authorization to buy.
2. Your account, your profile and your data
Kachiban is played as a guest: there is no email or password. To play online, the game creates an anonymous guest account tied to this installation. Your profile (name with tag, avatar, frame and level), your progress and what you buy with Coins and Gems are stored on your phone and, for what is played online, in that account too. If you uninstall the app, delete its data or lose the phone, you lose that account and your progress: a guest account cannot be recovered on another phone. Selling or sharing accounts, profiles or balances is prohibited, and so is using several accounts to manipulate results.
You can delete your account whenever you want (Delete my data). What is stored and how it is handled is in the privacy policy.
3. Conduct
It is prohibited to cheat, modify the app, automate moves, exploit bugs in the game or in purchases, and use names that impersonate Kachiban, Nettle or another person, or that are offensive. In online matches it is also prohibited to agree with others to lose or to pass information to other players, and to abuse reactions.
Names and communication. Names are free-form, with a word filter and no emails, phone numbers or web addresses; each name carries a numeric tag. Do not use your real name or personal details. In a match you only talk with predefined reactions and quick phrases: there is no free chat or voice. You can mute, block and report other players. An offensive name, or one that impersonates someone, may be replaced by the account's initial name.
Measures. If this clause is not followed, we may apply proportionate measures: a warning, a forced name change, suspension of online play for a few days or closing the account. You can appeal by email (section 11).
4. Purchases and virtual goods
- Coins, Gems and cosmetics are a license to use them inside Kachiban. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred and are not exchanged between profiles.
- Gems you buy do not expire.
- Prices are shown in your local currency, taxes included, as Google Play provides them. We do not use crossed-out prices.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under its rules.
- What is sold changes appearance, never luck or the board layout.
5. Ads
The app shows Google AdMob ads. Rewarded ads are optional. We do not control advertisers' content; we limit it to the all-audiences rating. If you see an inappropriate ad, write to nettledoingitagain@gmail.com with a description of the ad.
6. Artificial intelligence opponents
So that there is always a match, when not enough players are searching for a match at that moment, online matchmaking fills the table with opponents controlled by artificial intelligence. These opponents may carry a name and an avatar like those of any player. The AI also takes over for anyone who drops out or leaves. The AI plays with the same information as any player: it never sees other players’ hands or the order of the deck. No match is adjusted based on what anyone has spent. Today this applies to “Play” matches.
The “vs. AI” mode, played offline, is presented for what it is. Private rooms with a code and the League are not in this version yet; if they are added, these terms will be updated before they are published.
7. Availability
“Play” and the other online features need an internet connection and run on Unity Gaming Services servers located outside Colombia, mainly in the United States. There will be maintenance and mandatory updates: with an old version you may not be able to play online until you update. If you lose the connection during an online match, the artificial intelligence may play in your place (section 6). You play against the artificial intelligence (“vs. AI”) offline.
8. Intellectual property
The Kachiban name, art, music, sounds, texts and code of the app belong to Nettle or are used under license. They may not be copied or reused without permission.
9. Governing law
Colombian law, without prejudice to the consumer rules of the player's country that cannot be waived.
10. Changes
If we change these terms, we will publish the new version here with its date and tell you inside the app. The current version is the one published at this address.
