Sopita Privacy Policy

Effective October 19, 2026

This policy explains what information the game Sopita: Sopa de Letras (the "app"), published on Google Play by Nettle Studios, an independent studio based in Colombia ("Nettle", "we" or "us"), uses, and what rights you have over it. It applies to the app and to this page. The app is in Spanish; this English version is provided for convenience and has the same content as the Spanish one.

1. Who is responsible

The party responsible for this policy and for the app is Nettle Studios, Colombia. For any privacy question, write to support@nettle.almostastudio.com.

2. Information the app stores on your phone

DataPurposeWhere it is storedHow long

This information does not identify anyone, the app does not send it anywhere, and Nettle has no access to it.

3. Information we do not collect

4. Device permissions

The app does not request any permission that needs your approval: Android grants every permission it declares at install time, without asking. They are:

PermissionPurpose
VIBRATEVibrate the phone when a word is found, when a selection is incorrect and when a level is finished. It can be turned off in the game's settings
INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATERequest ads, send crash reports and usage data, download game settings, process purchases and check the connection. Your progress and settings are not transmitted
BILLINGAllow in-app purchases through Google Play (section 6)
AD_ID and the three ACCESS_ADSERVICES permissionsAllow Google AdMob to use the advertising ID and Android's advertising features to select and measure ads (section 7)
WAKE_LOCK and FOREGROUND_SERVICEAdded by the Google libraries AdMob and Firebase use to complete background tasks. The app shows no notifications and runs no services of its own
DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSIONAdded by the AndroidX library for the app's internal use

5. Android backup

If you have Google backup turned on on your phone, Android may include the app's progress and settings in it, so you can restore them when you change phones. This backup is made by the operating system, not by the app: it is stored in your Google account, protected with encryption, and Nettle has no access to it. It is governed by Google's privacy policy. You can turn it off or delete it from your phone's backup settings.

6. Google Play

The app is downloaded and updated through Google Play. Google handles the data of its own service, such as your account and your downloads, under its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google Play gives developers aggregate statistics, such as the number of installs, and the crash reports Android sends to Google if you allowed it on your phone. This information does not allow Nettle to identify anyone.

In-app purchases. Coin packs, hint packs and the option to remove ads are paid through Google Play's billing system. Google processes the payment and your payment method data under its privacy policy; Nettle does not receive your name, your email or your card details. Google Play tells the app which product was bought and the order code, which the app uses to deliver the purchase only once (section 2). Refunds are governed by Google Play's policies; you can also write to us at the address in section 16.

7. Advertising: Google AdMob

The app shows ads through Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC: banner ads in some levels, interstitial (full-screen) ads between levels, and rewarded video ads, which you may choose to watch in exchange for coins. To select ads, limit their frequency, measure their performance and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the app collects the following data from your phone and sends it to Google:

DataExample
Device identifiersThe Android advertising ID and the app set ID
Approximate locationAs inferred from the IP address; not precise GPS location
Ad interactionsWhich ads were shown and which were tapped
Technical and diagnostic informationPhone model, Android version, language and crash logs from the ads SDK

Nettle does not receive this data; it only has access to aggregate reports on the number of ads shown and the revenue generated. Google processes the data under its privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

How to manage this data:

Except as described in this section and the next two, Nettle does not sell, rent or transfer information to third parties.

8. Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics

If the app closes because of an error, it sends a technical report to Firebase Crashlytics, a service of Google LLC that Nettle uses to detect and fix errors. The report contains:

DataExample
Technical description of the errorThe point in the code where the failure occurred
Device informationPhone model, Android and app versions, available memory and storage, screen orientation
Installation identifierA random Firebase identifier that is not linked to your name or your Google account

The reports do not contain your progress, your settings or any personal data. Google processes them on Nettle's behalf under the Firebase terms (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy), does not use them for advertising, and deletes them automatically after 90 days.

9. Usage measurement: Google Analytics for Firebase

To learn how the game is played and improve it (for example, which levels turn out to be hard, which hints are used or whether the shop is clear), the app sends usage data to Google Analytics for Firebase, a service of Google LLC. It sends:

DataExample
What happens in the gameStarting and finishing a level, using a hint, opening the shop, seeing an offer, and purchases, with the product and its price
Device informationPhone model, Android and app versions, language
Installation identifierA random identifier that is not linked to your name or your Google account
Approximate locationCountry and region, which Google infers from the IP address; not precise GPS location

Your name, your email and the advertising ID are not sent, and this data is not used to personalize ads. Google processes it on Nettle's behalf under the Firebase terms (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) and keeps each installation's data for at most 14 months. Nettle looks at it in reports that do not let it know who you are.

How it is decided whether usage is measured:

Game settings that are downloaded. The app also downloads some game values from Firebase Remote Config, a service of Google LLC (for example, how many offers are shown per day), so they can be adjusted without releasing a new version. To do so it sends the installation identifier, the country, the language, the time zone and the Android and app versions. It does not measure usage, so it does not depend on the switch above.

10. Retention and deletion

The app's data stays on your phone until you delete it. You can do so in two ways:

  1. In Ajustes (Settings), with the Borrar el progreso (Delete progress) option. It deletes levels, coins and words; your settings are kept.
  2. By uninstalling the app. Android deletes everything the app had stored.

The Google backup is managed from your phone's backup settings, and the data AdMob collects, by resetting or deleting the advertising ID (section 7). Crash reports are deleted automatically after 90 days (section 8), and usage data after at most 14 months (section 9). Nettle keeps no other app data on servers.

11. Security

The game data is stored in the private storage Android assigns to the app, which other apps cannot access, and it is not transmitted over the network. The data AdMob collects, the crash reports and the usage data are transmitted encrypted to Google's servers.

12. Children

Sopita is designed for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Nettle does not ask anyone for personal data, including children, and ads are limited to content suitable for all audiences. If you believe a child sent us personal data by email, write to us and we will delete it.

13. Your rights

Depending on where you live, the law gives you rights over your personal data: for example, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in the United States, Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012, Argentina's Law 25,326 and Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD). These rights include accessing your data, correcting it, deleting it, objecting to or restricting its processing, taking it to another service, and filing a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.

What the app stores is on your phone and fully under your control (section 10). Crash reports and usage data are linked to a random installation identifier that Nettle cannot connect to you; you can object to usage measurement at any time by turning it off (section 9), and data already sent is deleted within the periods in section 10. The data AdMob collects is processed by Google, with whom the corresponding rights may be exercised under its privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). To exercise any right or ask a question, write to support@nettle.almostastudio.com.

If you write to us, we will use your address and your message only to answer you, and we will delete them once the matter is resolved, unless the law requires us to keep them.

14. International transfers

The data AdMob collects, the crash reports and the usage data are processed by Google on servers that may be located outside your country, with the safeguards described in its privacy policy and in the Firebase terms. If you email us, the message is kept in Google's email service, which may also store it outside your country.

15. Changes to this policy

If what the app does with data changes, we will update this policy before releasing that version, with the new date at the top and the change explained in the history below. The current version is always the one published at this address.
